The Red Sea Mountains Trail

The Red Sea Mountains trail, located near Hurghada, has some of the most significant mountains in the country and inhabited by the Khushman of the Maaza tribe.
Mohamed was our main guide on the expedition, he was born and raised in the mountains of the red sea desert. He knows the mountains as they were a neighborhood.
When you climb one of the high mountains on the trail in a clear day you will get to see the Red Sea on the east horizon and the Nile valley's mountains on the west horizon.
One of the most unexpected scenes on the trail is the "Nagaat". The mountain slowly drips water through the cracks even in a dry season, forming a lake in the end of the rigid valley, with breathtaking greenery around it and along the cracks of the mountain.
The "Maaza" tribe originated from Saudi Arabia like many other tribes in Egypt. They are Nomads; moving according to the rain and water sources. Women play a most significant role in the Bedouin's life; they bring water, heard sheep, find mountain herbs, make bread, and take care of every aspect of the Bedouin's house hold.
